For some women the menopause can come and go seamlessly. However, for many it can be an incredibly difficult time, with a collection of symptoms lasting for months and even years.
With more people talking about it, knowledge is spreading and Women are beginning to take back control of their health and longevity.
Peri-menopause and Menopause can be a challenging time for many women. We can experience headaches, dry and itchy skin, hair loss and reduction in hair and nail quality, low mood, low energy, hot flushes, stomach upset, weight gain and many more symptoms. Many women report not feeling themselves and recent evidence shows that 10% of women ended up leaving their jobs due to symptoms of the Menopause.
Those experiencing medical, surgical or chemical menopause, such as those having gone through cancer treatment and those who have had ovaries and/or their womb removed, can experience more intense symptoms that come on much quicker.
Symptoms can often be severe and can interfere with daily living.
For some women, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is an extremely helpful tool in relieving many of these symptoms. However HRT does not suit everybody.
The good news is that dietary intervention can help with many of these symptoms and can support you to live better and reduce the likelihood of onset of age-related health conditions, such as heart disease and osteoporosis.
Dietary intervention can be used alongside or independently of HRT.
